On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to invite you to attend ISNMR2011, the 50th Memorial Annual Meeting of the NMR Society of Japan. The meeting will be held from November 15th-18th, 2011, in Yokohama. The first symposium of the society was held in 1961 in Tokyo. We are therefore organizing a celebratory meeting on November 15th which will include a talk by Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Richard Ernst. The international meeting will take place on November 16th and 17th, followed by a domestic meeting on November 18th. The program includes many well-known specialists from around the world.
Yokohama is located in the center of Japan on the Pacific coast. It is the second biggest city in Japan with a population of about 3.5 million, and is the principal port. Many foreign enterprises have established branches in Yokohama, making it a vibrant international city. The conference will take place in the heart of Yokohama, close to shopping and entertainment districts, and one of Yokohama's popular tourist spots where you can enjoy all sorts of restaurants. The weather is warm and pleasant in November, the best season for viewing autumn maples. It is our pleasure to invite you to attend ISNMR2011 and we hope you will join us to participate in this exciting scientific program.

皆様へ

2011年11月15日-18日に横浜市の大さん橋ホールにて、第50回記念NMR討論会国際シンポジウム（ISNMR2011）を開催致します。ISNMR2011の組織委員会を代表して皆様方の参加を心よりお待ちしております。第1回NMR討論会は荒田洋治先生のエッセイ「創世記」（Bull. NMR Soc. Japan Vol.1 3-46）によると1961年11月24日-25日に藤原鎭男先生と清水博先生が主催して開催されています。その後50年を経て第50回NMR討論会が開催されたことは歴代の関係者の大変なご努力のおかげですが、その記念すべき討論会を組織する事は多大な喜びです。記念式典を11月15日に開催し、その後11月16日-18日は記念シンポジウムとします。記念式典にはノーベル賞受賞者のRichard　Ernst博士の講演を始め国際的にNMR研究を進展されてきた方々を中心に講演を戴きますのでその後の11月16日-17日の会合と合わせて国際シンポジウムとし11月18日は日本語による国内シンポジウムと致しました。よって通常のNMR討論会とは変わっていますがご了承の程宜しくお願いします。
シンポジウムが開催されます11月の横浜は心地よく非常に温和な天候です。横浜市の人口は369万人と東京に次いで日本第2の都市であり多くの海外企業も国際港横浜に拠点を設けています。横浜は世界に開かれた日本最初の港として1859年に開港し2009年に開港150周年を迎えました。大さん橋ホール周辺には旅行者に人気の高いスポットが多く食事や買い物も楽しめ赤レンガ倉庫を含め娯楽施設も多くあります。
この横浜でISNMR2011を開催できます事は、私たちにとって大きな喜びであり、世界各国からの招待講演者を含めて多数の皆様方の発表や参加により意義深いシンポジウムになるよう私たち一同頑張りたいと思っています。
ぜひとも大勢の皆様方の参加をお願いし会議が成功裏に導かれるようにお願い申し上げます。
